This Los Angeles regional burn took place over the July 4th weekend of 2004. Originally it was to take place in Death Valley, but due to popularity it was relocated to Outdoor World Retreat. As it happens, it was closer to people in San Diego (such as myself) than the folks in LA.
I took these pictures on the afternoon of the 4th, wandering around the 90 acres of the burn. This is a tiny fragment of the experience.
