Change has come slowly here these past few months; my priorities have been elsewhere. For one thing, I married Heather--see our wedding site. I also received my diploma from Mesa College. It's been a time of major milestones.
And now, I'm ready to present to the world my adventure machine, Logos.

Ah, the perfect day to make the wiki transition. As of today, http://crispyneurons.com, http://www.crispyneurons.com, and http://wiki.crispyneurons.com resolve to the new wiki site. The original site now exists only at http://old.crispyneurons.com, and will remain there until it eventually fades away.
I've been busy migrating content of course; no point in enumerating it all since everything can be seen here. And naturally there's still much to move off the old crispy site, but the bulk of it, along with everything new since February 11, is now here.

More wikification:
- Completed the Purple Turtle Funky Fiesta pages.
- Began the friends and travel pages.
- Posted the short stories Broadcast Interference and A Week for Wallace.
- More of The Great Books: Volume 43 and Volume 49.
- Major improvements to burning.
- More history, at least in 2000 and 2005.
It's coming along. Slowly.

I began to modify the style of the wiki site, moving it towards the old static site. Since it is 2006, I moved all the entries of 2005 from this page to the new 2005 history page. The writing page now exists. I fixed the about jason wiki link in the nav too. I began the Purple Turtle Funky Fiesta pages as well as Volume 49 of The Great Books.
To explain why I'm doing all this work, I wrote an article: Why wiki?

The Great Books are completely migrated, such as they are... I hadn't gotten very far with them on the old site, but I have a feeling it'll get done much faster than it would have before.

I completed posting the text for Volume 4 of The Great Books. In the interests of time and simplicity, I abandoned the chapter-level breakout of the Iliad and the Odyssey, opting to post the documents entire. The favicon from the original static site has been added. Every tiny bit helps.

I finished Bizarre Repudiation yesterday afternoon! It took me 9 years (including some years of neglect)... but now, it's finished. This is one of the most important goals for this period of time before I begin school at UCSD. I've had it as a goal for so long I can hardly believe it's finished.
On the wikifikation front:
- I am pleased to announce that that I have finally completed my Burning Man 2005 page! Just six short months after the burn!
- The Technology page has been moved over here.
- The About crispy page too.
- I backfilled some older entries, beginning with those of 2005. These will eventually be moved to the 2005 page.
- The 1st level navigation is now much closer to the old crispyneurons site.

Still getting into the wikifikation. I learned how to replace the default upper-left graphic; it is now the gecko symbol, though I hope to improve the presentation of it. Which falls right into the project of modifying the appearance of this site; I would like to walk it towards the appearance and content of the original flat site.
I have begun modifying the 1st level navigation (over on the left) to mirror the original site as well. The Situation page is over here now as well.
Finally, I've made a great deal of progress on a very overdue content addition: the Burning Man 2005 page. It's not quite complete but it's come a long way.

Today begins a major change in the way crispy works.
All these years, crispyneurons has been a static web site that I created using crude editing tools and handcrafted XHTML. Only I knew how to maintain and grow the site; it's potential has been limited by its static nature.
Now, I have created this site: wiki.crispyneurons.com. Initially, this site will sit side by side with the original site, but gradually, over time, everything of the original site will be recast in wiki, and the original site will be like a discarded husk. Eventually the wiki site will answer to www.crispyneurons.com, but for now the two will coexist.
This move opens new doors that I'm only now beginning to explore. Initially only I will have the power to edit this site, but perhaps that will change in the future, depending on what direction crispy heads. Stay tuned.
