[edit] 29 November 2001

Added my art portfolio to the site.

[edit] 26 November 2001

Added a favicon to all pages on this site. This was mostly prompted by the fact that the latest rev of Mozilla supports them, and I happen to be pretty damn bored. But there it is.

It's my birthday tomorrow. I'll be 27.

[edit] 19 November 2001

Added homage to Bob Dobbs. Added CSS workaround to glitch on Mozilla/Linux. Did some other general clean up. Nothing major.

[edit] 2 October 2001

In other news, @home, my collapsing ISP, has introduced a new firewall policy: block all inbound port 80--the port the Web uses. This is supposedly a response to the threat of Code Red worm -- yet my web server, which doesn't run Windows or IIS, is blocked as well. As a result, I've moved this site from port 80 to port 777.

This appears to be a convenient way for them to enforce their TOS, which prevents hosting any kind of web server, even for personal use, under the guise of protecting their customers. How ironic that they choose to devalue their network now, as they face imminent destruction. I never expected them to respect my freedom to communicate as I see fit on their network (which even the phone company grants its customers), but why go against business sense?

[edit] 11 September 2001

A bad day.

[edit] 27 May 2001

Finally, finally, finally!!! I finished the Australia section. Stick a fork in it, it's done. And only 20 months after I took the trip! It's so nice having that done. Even if it took way longer than I ever imagined it possibly could.

Many updates to EYM as well. I've defined styles and re-worked the site with a new design concept. See what you think.

[edit] 9 May 2001

Made some changes to the structure of the site. I decided it was absurd that the home page was the least dynamic page on the entire site. Going forward, this page will track changes and improvements. "Medusa" has been moved to the colophon page.

The history page was getting gargantuan, so I created a history section with each year's worth of history broken into separate pages.

[edit] 19 April 2001

Internal NAT network is now up and running. (Thanks Russ!) Makes no difference to you but believe me, having a home network is profoundly cool for many reasons. The main advantage is that all of my boxes, not just the web server, can share the same broadband connection simultaneously.

Finished entering all the written portion of the Australia travel journal. Now just need to scan the remaining photos. Also renamed the 'Absurdity' section to 'Demented' -- more punch.

[edit] 1 January 2001

A New Millennium dawns. Massive renovation to the Yosemite section. Renamed, reorganized, optimized and enhanced all images. Switched to 7 page, 7 photos/page structure. Also added more scanned photos for the Australia section.
