Today I wrote The Symphony Playing Itself:
A monograph on the meaning of change and pattern in our foundationless cosmos.

Migrated the Australia travel journal...
One month in 1999, from Sydney to Cape Tribulation and back.

After the burn...
There is afterburn at Lake Tahoe. Photography from the trip Heather and I took across Lake Tahoe from Tahoe City to Emerald Bay and back.

I returned to San Diego from Burning Man just three days ago...
...and I've been busy. Here is the photojournal of my experiences at Burning Man 2007.

What, more? Begin with the old:
- The Long Now Photography Project has been migrated.
- Also The Open Model, the last of the Writing from the old site.
- The photos of Heather's belly dance performance at the Rakkasah Festival.
On with the new:
- Status and sculpture updates for Project Swirl.
[edit] 8 August 2007
More migration:
- The Move to Diyafa from 2004.
- The rest of the fractal images.
- Homesteading the Web. This article I wrote 10 years ago is so quaint now.
[edit] 2 August 2007
Hello hello. What is new:
- Project Swirl has met its goal (in fact, blew away the goal). I'm hard at work on the sculpture, and we are now accepting donations to hand out CFL bulbs for free at Burning Man 2007.
- The Burning Man 2004 content is now completely migrated over from the old site.
- So is the photography showing Heather preparing to belly dance.
- And Marta's wedding to Pak in 2003.

I'm not sure how to describe this. Is it a poem? A meditation? Is it meaningless? You tell me. I present The n-god is an Artist.

Writing news: I just discovered that my paper Death to Final, was cited by Natalie Alexandra Bowles in her Queen's University master's thesis, "Enforcing Resource-Aware Policies Using Run-time Monitoring," and that my paper Semantic Object Language, was used by Ruth Miller in her graduate work at Kansas State University. This, when I have yet to complete my own undergraduate degree, which won't be in computer science at all.
How cool is that?
[edit] 18 July 2007
I'd like to invite you to participate in Project Swirl.

A taste of Talisman...
[edit] 13 July 2007
All of the dumbek rhythms and background content has been migrated in.

[edit] 6 July 2007
This summer I've resumed improving this site, adding new content and migrating in content from the old site. What's new:
- Logos, as well as its page, has been upgraded
- Photos from Tapestry from when I worked there back in 1996
- Adventures in botany
- Migrated photography: Strauss Jug and Trojan Nuclear Plant
- Migrated more of the dumbek rhythms
- Added support for Google Analytics
- Last but certainly not least: the horrid "index.php" has been removed from all URLs
[edit] 11 March 2007
I enhanced the front terrace botanically. Lawns are silly in San Diego.
[edit] 10 March 2007
Here's the pictures from the debut performance of Talisman Dance Co., Heather's new dance troupe.
